An Imaginary Electorate

Pickleman Presents

An Imaginary Electorate

November 6, 2020–December 19, 2020

Who is the WE anymore? Does anybody really know? 77 million people? 70 million people? The US. The Them. The You. The We.

We used to hold these truths to be self evident. We used to have truths to hold self evident. Evidently, we are not certain what we have anymore. Do we?

The pictures and objects in this exhibition are my We. The young, the old; from here, from there; this color, that color; looking here, looking there; face forward and upside down. Amusing ourselves and taking ourselves seriously, extraordinarily so.

Smile for the camera. Don’t blink.

We were expecting you.

The exhibition includes works by August Sander, Iris Adler, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Richard Kern, Nora and Ivan Thorpe.
